As creatives we struggle with ways to convey what goes on in our minds at many points in our careers. The one constant that we have as a creative, is that we share a common thread and that is how we tend to look at the world we live in. Some of us, well I know at least I do look at everything I see as a still image. From how the light falls on certain subjects to how my eye composes the landscape. I knew from a very young age that I have always wanted to be an artist and share my version of reality to everyone who wanted to see it.
So now that I have taken a step back and looked at my body of work the one thing that was missing was consistency. When I realized this I knew that it was time to change things up and go in a different direction with my photography and what it was I was trying to convey to the public, and when I mean public I meant the people who hire us. What was my voice, what was my work saying to those clients. When I started to answer these questions things became a lot more clear to me and to where I needed to focus my energies and tailor my work to what was relevant in today’s world. Of course still putting my signature and style to it. I feel now I have a sense of direction of where I want to go as a photographer and how I want to be perceived as an artist. I will continue to strive and I am sure along the way there will be some failures as well as some successes, but I do know one thing about me and that is I will never give up on what it is I love to do and continue on this new direction that I am going no matter what.
